Simply Set is part of a family-owned wholesale grower specializes in a wide range of seasonal products, including annuals, perennials and vegetables. We partner with major retailers, supplying high-volume, high quality plant material, and pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service.
We are currently seeking a Team Lead to build and oversee a team of Merchandisers who will deliver specialized merchandising services for Walmart on behalf of wholesale suppliers. This roles includes providing extensive training on the proper care of live goods, such as annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs. The Team Lead will also guide the Simply Set merchandising team in training and supporting retail associates, ensuring they effectively manage their garden center operations and confidently engage with customers.
Requirements
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train Seasonal Merchandisers within the assigned market.
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day workflow and operations of the market.
  • Administer employee discipline and terminations in accordance with company policies.

Essential Duties
  • Oversee one assigned market consisting of 7-12 stores.
  • Interview, hire, and train merchandisers for all assigned stores, ensuring team members live near their locations to minimize drive time and mileage.
  • Train and support the team to:
  • Execute retail merchandising tasks, including product placement, displays, and signage.
  • Train store associates on proper watering practices.
  • Implement assigned retail schematics and merchandising materials.
  • Ensure all merchandising meets Walmart's established standards.
  • Train retail staff to complete scheduled tasks.
  • Captured before-and-after photos of displays and merchandising plans and submit them to the Regional Manager.
  • Consistently meet company and client objectives.
  • Clock in and out using Volt and Chronotek for each store visit.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with store management, associates, and suppliers.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Strictly adhere to the assigned weekly labor hour budget.
  • Visit each assigned store on a weekly basis.
  • Work regularly alongside merchandisers in-store, including possible documentation.
  • Upload only approved specification photos to OneDrive.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Regional Manager via email, text and phone.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the Regional Manager immediately.
  • Submit weekly schedules for yourself and merchandisers to the Regional Manager by Friday evening of the prior week, and promptly communicate any changes.
  • Saturday hours are required from April through October, holiday work may be required during peak season.
  • All time-off requests must be approved by the Regional Manager.
