Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $22.73 - $29.55 / hour
Summary
The Pharmacy Automation Technician supports the safe and efficient use of medication automation systems within the pharmacy. This role is responsible for routine software management of automated dispensing machines (ADMs), including user provisioning, formulary maintenance, patient reconciliation, device listings, and inventory refinement. The technician repairs, maintains, and reconfigures automation devices as needed, and implements workflows to enhance patient safety and operational efficiency. Additionally, the role involves compiling and distributing routine data reports, sharing system-related information with end users, and performing assigned activities under the direction of the Pharmacy Informatics leadership team and Pharmacy Department Leadership.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced education preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years prior hospital pharmacy technician experience required. Experience in managing pharmacy hardware or software technology preferred.
Certification: CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) with national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.
License: Registered Pharmacy Technician with Florida Department of Health required.
Other: • Exhibits strong communication and interpersonal skills, analytical skills, and physical skills required to maintain mechanical aspects of automation systems (bending, lifting, tool use). • Effectively interacts with Leadership, technical/application teams and external customers. • Serves as a collaborative team member in the areas of work ethic, values, and customer service while demonstrating compassion for patients and the community. • Expresses ideas effectively in individual and group situations (including nonverbal communication); adjusting language or terminology to the characteristics and needs of the audience. • Listen to others and values opinions. • Possesses strong analytical skills and ability to recognize problems and respond, systematically gathers information, sorts through issues with assistance, seek input from others and pursues improvement in various process, technology, system/application and end-user needs. • Active participant of the on-call rotation team is a requirement.
