Job description

Pediatrician - Founding Physician
New Pediatric Practice (De Novo) Rocky Mount, North Carolina
Location: Rocky Mount, NC
Employment Type: Full-Time
Practice Status: New Practice Opening Soon
Build Something New - Where It's Truly Needed
We are launching a brand-new pediatric practice in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and seeking a pediatrician who wants more than a traditional associate role.
This is a rare opportunity to help build a practice from the ground up in a community with significant unmet pediatric demand. Families in and around Rocky Mount are actively seeking accessible, high-quality pediatric care-and this practice is being designed specifically to meet that need.
From day one, you will play a meaningful role in shaping the clinical experience, care model, and community relationships of a practice built to last.
Why Rocky Mount?
Rocky Mount offers an appealing combination of professional opportunity and lifestyle flexibility:
  • Less than an hour from Raleigh and the Research Triangle
  • Less than two hours to North Carolina's Crystal Coast beaches
  • Affordable housing and an easy commute
  • Strong community ties and a clear need for pediatric access

You get the impact and visibility of a smaller community-without giving up proximity to major metro amenities or coastal getaways.
The Role
As a founding physician, you'll be central to establishing how care is delivered and experienced in this new practice.
What you'll do:
  • Provide comprehensive pediatric care to infants, children, and adolescents
  • Build long-term, trusted relationships with families in the community
  • Help shape clinic workflows, culture, and patient experience
  • Participate in community outreach and local partnerships
  • Collaborate closely with medical and operational leadership as the practice grows

This role is ideal for a physician who values autonomy, purpose, and ownership-and wants to be part of something from the beginning.
Qualifications
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
  • Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina
  • DEA license (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Interest in community engagement and practice-building

Compensation & Support
  • Highly competitive compensation package
  • Anticipated eligibility for Federal loan repayment opportunities (up to $100,000), pending program approval and site qualification
  • Anticipated eligibility for North Carolina Office of Rural Health incentives (up to $100,000), pending approval and program requirements
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Generous paid time off and holidays
  • Malpractice coverage
  • Full operational and administrative support so you can stay focused on patient care

Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This is not a replacement role or a saturated market. It's a chance to:
  • Be a founding physician in a thoughtfully designed pediatric practice
  • Serve a community with real demand and immediate need
  • Enjoy proximity to Raleigh and the coast while maintaining a manageable cost of living
  • Build something meaningful-with room for leadership and long-term growth
