Position Overview

Davey Resource Group, Inc. is looking to add a motivated Survey Crew Chief to our growing team of Civil Engineering and Surveying professionals. This role is ideal for an experienced survey professional who thrives in outdoor environments, and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
Job Duties
  • Successfully contribute to all aspects of survey related field operation for residential and commercial land development projects, stream and environmental restoration projects and various utility projects.
  • Conduct boundary, construction, ALTA, and topographic surveys.
  • Collect and organize field data using Trimble GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
  • Prepare sketches, field notes, and project documentation.
  • Communicate project status and issues with office staff and clients.
  • Adhere to safety, quality, and equipment maintenance standards.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and interns to create customized solutions.
  • Additional duties, as assigned and relevant to the position.

Qualifications
Education and Qualifications:
  • Love of the outdoors and the ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency with Trimble GPS, GNSS equipment, and data collection systems.
  • Experience using survey software for data processing or drafting.
  • Experience with construction staking and layout
  • Leadership experience on survey crews and a desire for career growth will be given priority.
  • Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving, meeting deadlines, and technical innovation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean DMV driving record and ability to drive to various job sites.
  • OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
  • Organizational skills; working knowledge of computers and programs, file creation, manipulation, and sharing.
  • 8-10 years of full-time crew chief work experience.

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Relevant licenses and certificates.
  • Professional Surveyor License

Starting pay range: $45-55 per hour based on professional certifications, experience and education
