Job Description
JMA Solutions, a leading government contractor for the Federal Aviation Administration, has a full-time opportunity for a Technical Writer supporting the FAA Logistics Center (FAALC) Product Services Division/Logistics Center Support System Office.
DESCRIPTION
The Technical Writer will provide trained, skilled, and competent technical writing support to the Program Office, to include support for highly visible tasks that require interfacing with upper management, including FAA Headquarters executives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, write, and edit materials for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with logistics support services and software systems
  • Maintain and track employee training in support of the FAA training program (i.e., eLMS)
  • Provide administrative support to include mail handling, maintaining inventories and property records, and maintaining recurring internal reports, such as time and leave records and Castle time entries
  • Establish and maintain files and documentation, both hard copy (when directed by the COR) and electronic, to include work revisions, drawings, diagrams, and charts
  • Prepare and format high-quality documentation for use by upper management, to include correspondence, documents, reports, summaries, charts, schedules, and replies, in accordance with FAA Plain Language guidance; manipulate data and consolidate information into documents
  • Provide scanning, image manipulation, and image editing to include cropping, coloring, and layering
  • Maintain electronic files and file systems
  • Print, assemble, and distribute complex documents, checklists, and manuals
  • Maintain copies of distributed documents and publications maintained by control numbers
  • Perform document distribution to various offices and personnel
  • Attend weekly project meetings

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Adobe, and graphic design in support of technical writing tasks, including presentations and reports

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
