Description
Palm Beach Day Academy, established in 1921, is an independent, coeducational school serving students from age 2 to Grade 8 on two campuses. The Upper Campus, which teaches students from 4th through 8th grades, seeks a full-time teacher for the upcoming school year. Applicants should enjoy working in a collaborative, student-centered environment and be skilled in providing differentiated instruction to promote student academic, social, and emotional growth. In addition, a successful candidate will:
  • Be motivated and enthusiastic, organized, and attentive to detail
  • Possess excellent classroom management skills
  • Be comfortable collaborating across departmental disciplines

Requirements
The upper campus teacher is responsible for:
  • Proficiency in use of technology in the classroom
  • Designing and implementing hands-on learning experiences that help students connect their studies and real-world contexts
  • Supporting students and co-workers with additional duties as assigned
  • Advising students, attending faculty meetings and professional development training
  • Maintaining a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment

Selection Criteria:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (4-5th)/Secondary Education or field of study (6-8th)
  • Teaching certification with at least 3 years teaching experience (ideal, but not required for the right candidate)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
