We are committed to providing exceptional service while ensuring every student arrives safely and on time.

Position Summary

NB Vital Care Pro is seeking dependable, safety-focused drivers to transport students to and from school and school-related activities. Drivers play an essential role in ensuring students receive safe, reliable, and respectful transportation every day.

Essential Job Duties

·       Safely transport students according to assigned routes and schedules.

·       Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections each day.

·       Conduct mandatory child checks after every route to ensure no student is left on the vehicle.

·       Assist students entering and exiting the vehicle when necessary.

·       Properly secure wheelchairs, booster seats, child safety seats, and other restraint systems.

·       Maintain a clean, safe, and professional vehicle.

·       Operate GPS, communication equipment, and camera systems.

·       Communicate with dispatch regarding route changes, delays, emergencies, or incidents.

·       Follow all company policies, school district requirements, and applicable state and federal transportation regulations.

·       Complete required paperwork and electronic documentation accurately and on time.

·       Attend required safety meetings and annual training.

Qualifications

·       Valid Michigan driver's license appropriate for the assigned vehicle (CDL with required endorsements if applicable).

·       Clean driving record.

·       Ability to pass a criminal background investigation.

·       Ability to pass pre-employment and any required random drug and alcohol testing.

·       Medical certification when required by law.

·       Ability to successfully complete all company safety training.

·       Strong customer service and communication skills.

·       Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.

Preferred Qualifications

·       Previous student transportation experience.

·       Experience transporting children with special needs.

·       CPR and First Aid certification (preferred but not required).

·       Experience operating wheelchair lifts and securement systems.

Physical Requirements

·       Lift up to 50 pounds.

·       Assist students when necessary.

·       Bend, kneel, and climb into transportation vehicles.

·       Remain seated while driving for extended periods.

·       Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Safety Expectations

·       Place student safety above all else.

·       Never use a cell phone while operating a vehicle except as permitted by company policy.

·       Never transport unauthorized passengers.

·       Never leave a student unattended.

·       Follow all child check procedures before exiting a vehicle.

·       Immediately report accidents, injuries, incidents, or mechanical concerns.
