Job description

Summary:

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. is seeking a Drafter to join our design and project support team. The Drafter will work closely with Project Managers, engineers, and architects to prepare accurate and detailed technical drawings for mechanical construction projects. This role is responsible for converting design concepts, sketches, and specifications into high‐quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings to support construction planning and execution. The ideal candidate will be highly detail‐oriented, technically proficient, and capable of collaborating across disciplines to ensure drawings meet applicable codes, industry standards, and project requirements.


Responsibilities:

· Create comprehensive 2D shop drawings and coordinated 3D mechanical, plumbing, and ductwork models from architectural and engineering plans.

· Utilize AutoCAD MEP and Revit to draft highly accurate spatial layouts for commercial new construction projects.

· Run automated clash-detection workflows using Navisworks to flag and resolve spatial conflicts before fabrication.

· Collaborate closely with Project Managers and field supervisors to integrate real-world feedback into technical submittals.

· Organize and maintain digital drawing logs, project revisions, and BIM coordination files.


What We Are Looking For:

· Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of dedicated drafting experience specifically within the plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical trade.

· Software Mastery: Proficient in AutoCAD MEP or Revit. Experience with Navisworks or SysQue is a major plus.

· Technical Literacy: Ability to read and accurately interpret complex commercial architectural, structural, and MEP engineering blueprints.

· Location Fit: Ability to work full-time, on-site at our Newark, NJ headquarters.

· Collaboration: Strong English communication skills to sync effectively with project managers and participate in trade coordination updates


Compensation:

· $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 / year (Paid Weekly Baseline: Approx. $1,346.15 - $1,442.31 / week)
