The Opportunity

Moody Bible Institute is seeking a Software Developer to join our Information Technology Services team. In this role, you will design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications that serve our ministry and business operations. This is an opportunity for a skilled developer who combines technical expertise, innovative problem-solving, and a commitment to excellence with a passion for supporting mission-critical systems that enable Moody's ministry worldwide.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with experience in .NET development and a desire to build reliable, scalable, and high-quality software solutions.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Develop, test, maintain, and support enterprise applications using C# and .NET technologies.
  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following established development standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues while enhancing existing applications.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily standups, code reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, and technology teams to deliver effective software solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Stay current with software development trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to collaboration, continuous learning, service, and professional growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Top Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience developing applications using C# and .NET.
  • Experience working through the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Working knowledge of software design principles and patterns, including Object-Oriented Design and Service-Oriented Architecture concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Visual Studio, Git, ASP.NET MVC, and RESTful API development.
  • Full-stack development experience using modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience developing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database objects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Salesforce platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

  • This position operates in a professional office environment and follows a Monday through Friday schedule of 38.75 hours per week.
  • Remote employees are expected to attend quarterly on-site departmental meetings.
  • Limited travel and weekend work are typically required.
  • The role also requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
