Job description

About Santiam Ambulance

At Santiam Ambulance, part of Santiam Hospital & Clinics, we are committed to providing exceptional prehospital care to our community through advanced life support (ALS) services. As part of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering urgent, high-quality care to patients in emergency situations. We take pride in offering a collaborative, supportive environment where your skills and expertise as an EMS professional are valued and your growth is encouraged. Working with advanced medical equipment and a dedicated team, you’ll make a real difference in the lives of patients every day. We are also committed to investing in your education and professional development, offering opportunities to advance your credentials and grow your career with us.

Department Overview

Santiam Ambulance is a hospital-based ambulance service providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) services to a primary coverage area of approximately 160 square miles, including Stayton, Sublimity, Aumsville, Marion, and Scio. Additionally, we provide mutual aid to surrounding communities, covering over 1,000 square miles. Unlike some hospital-based teams, our paramedics are not stationed inside the hospital or working in the emergency department. Instead, they respond to emergency 9-1-1 calls, delivering prehospital care directly to patients in their time of need.

We are committed to a culture of performance excellence, high reliability, and dependability, where every team member plays an integral role in the department’s success and the well-being of the community. As a hospital-based ambulance service, our paramedics have unique access to expanded training opportunities, working alongside teams in the OR, OB, ICU, and ED, further enhancing our ability to deliver exceptional care. With over 3,500 calls annually, our teams staff three ALS ambulances and thrive in a collaborative environment that ensures continuous learning and growth for all members.
