Job description

JOB TITLE: Shot Blast Operator

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:

Newberry Tanks & Equipment is a fast paced, growing business based in West Memphis, Arkansas. We are looking for a reliable and experienced individual to join our team. A successful candidate will efficiently and effectively:

  • Operate shot blast equipment to prepare steel tanks to receive paint and coatings.
  • Use quality control tools and gauges to ensure product meets specifications
  • Operate forklift to move and load tank products for shipping
  • Perform basic maintenance and inspection of equipment
  • Keep work area in clean and orderly condition free of hazards
  • Request materials and supplies as needed
  • Adhere to all quality and safety codes

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of three years of successful continuous employment in a commercial or industrial setting

EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Simple reading and arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of whole numbers and decimals
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations for industrial plant & equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Moderate physical effort; requires standing for entire shift
  • Able to lift up to 60 lbs. throughout the day
  • Good eye and hand coordination
  • Visual acuity in order to perform tasks successfully
  • Able to climb, stoop, bend to move from forklift and perform various outside activities throughout yard
