💲 Starting Pay: $27.26 – $35.00/hour

🕐 Status: Full-Time | Immediate Hire

🕔 Schedule: 8:00AM - 4:30PM | Monday - Friday 

The Refrigerated Container Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and conducting pre-trip inspections on Thermo King and Carrier refrigerated shipping containers. This role involves troubleshooting and performing maintenance on Thermo King and Carrier Gensets, ensuring that equipment is in optimal working condition to meet shipping and transportation needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with Thermo King and Carrier refrigerated shipping containers and Gensets.

  • Perform necessary repairs on refrigeration units, including electrical and mechanical components.

  • Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure proper functioning of refrigerated containers before shipment.

  • Provide maintenance and corrective actions on Gensets (thermo-electric units).

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures during all repair and diagnostic activities.

  • Work closely with logistics and shipping teams to ensure timely and efficient container readiness.

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance performed.

  • Assist with ordering parts and managing inventory to ensure necessary tools and materials are available for repairs.

  • Follow up on repair status and communicate with the team to meet deadlines and customer expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Refrigerated Shipping Container Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Thermo King and Carrier refrigeration systems and Gensets.
  • Ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration issues.
  • Experience with pre-trip inspections and troubleshooting techniques for refrigerated units.
  • Strong communicator; communicates with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with reading and understanding computer generated work orders
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Conforms with and abides by all work regulations, policies, procedures, safety rules and instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • EPA Ceritifcation 
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a forklift.
  • Willingness to obtain Forklift Certification
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening.
    • The Federal Rail Administration sets and enforces safety regulations and standards for railroad operations. Use of cannabis is strictly prohibited. If applicable for the position you are applying to, and if you are offered the position, you will have to take and pass a drug screen. 
Preferred Skills:
  • Certification in refrigeration or HVAC systems.

  • Previous experience with refrigerated container repair and maintenance.

  • Familiarity with safety protocols and environmental guidelines.

  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and prioritize tasks efficiently.
