Job description

Job Summary: Responsible for operating sewing machine and rollers to feed the coater j-boxes
1st Shift
Key Responsibilities:
  • Use computer to scan roll labels into JIP program
  • Verify coating type and weight of greige roll being sewn in
  • Tag rolls with appropriate color sticker as needed
  • Operate console to unroll greige rolls
  • Sew tails of turf together
  • Verify straightness and integrity of seam prior to sending turf into j-box
  • Feed turf into j-box
  • Maintain j-box level
  • Communicate with console operators regarding line speed & product changes
  • Perform autonomous maintenance tasks as required
  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as SOPs and Safety Data Sheets
  • Ability to communicate effectively with leads and supervisor
  • Basic computer skills including internet use and spreadsheets
