Air Force Civilian Service is currently seeking a full-time Supervisory Industrial Security Specialist to work in the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Systems Directorate, Minuteman III (MMIII) Systems Program Office at Hill Air Force Base near Layton, Utah.
This position (003162611M) is an NH-0080-04. The basic salary range for this position is $107,446 - $145,856 based on Value of Position, which does not include locality pay.

The AFNWC ICBM Systems Directorate, MMIII Systems Program Office manages the integrated life-cycle activities of the LGM-30G MMIII ICBM. The MMIII Systems Program Office faces the challenge of sustaining a 50-year-old weapon system until it is replaced by the Sentinel ICBM.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Supervisory Industrial Security Specialist, protecting the AFNWC MMIII Division, from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or technology considered vital to enterprise security activities and national defense or national security.
Security Specialists in AFNWC are professionals who solve complex problems and integrate a variety of security disciplines into the lifecycle of the most complex, high-risk aspects of the ICBM program - the ground-based leg of America's Nuclear Triad.
RANGE OF DUTIES:
• Serves as a Security Chief in the Minute Man III Division and acts as the System Program Office (SPO) subject matter expert for Special Access Program (SAP), Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI), and Collateral Security, providing related policy oversight and expert technical advice to leaders and personnel on complex security issues.
• As a supervisor, leads, develops and trains a multi-disciplinary team of security professionals with a range of experience, reviewing and assessing contractor work performance to include tracking progress, evaluating work products, supporting missions, and facilitating process development & improvement initiatives.
• Plans, organizes and directs the activities of the security office, ensuring all activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
• Collaborates with essential mission partners for effective warfighter support, providing security management and assistance where they are needed and when they are needed in support of America's 24/7/365 nuclear deterrence mission.
• Plans, organizes and directs SPO-level security policy oversight for assigned organizations, facilities and acquisition program systems that support advanced or special programs and SCI material at contractor and other government locations, ensuring all elements of protection complies with legal and regulatory requirements throughout the program.
• Develops security/technology protection risk assessment, mitigation assessment and mitigation strategies/recommendations based on intelligence-derived threat issues that require deviations from or synthesis of policies that can have national implications.
• Engages daily with the supported and supporting mission partners, associated ICBM program offices and contractor to understand and make decisions regarding security requirements.
Desired Skills:
• Five or more years' expert knowledge and experience in a wide range of advanced concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices involving multiple security disciplines are preferred for this position.
• Skill in interpreting a variety of security program laws, directives, regulations, and guidance to assist subordinate organizations in establishing and operating internal security programs is highly valued.
• Candidates should have a mastery of security program interrelationships to coordinate the objectives and plans of two or more specialized programs to support and promote information sharing and strategies.
• Knowledge of government contractual practices, protection planning, security protection levels and requirements for development and purchase of USAF acquisition programs and/or supporting programs/projects. Familiarity with Defense Industrial Base security organization, operations, and management practices is highly desired.
• Skill in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review, evaluate, and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for highly specific situations, availability of materials, relationships with other protective programs, and cost/benefit considerations is highly valued.
• U.S. Citizenship
• Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with special sensitivity, Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access eligibility.
• Employee must meet Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Program Integration Professional Certification (SPIPC) conferrals within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification and AFI 36-2645, Security Professional Certification and Development.
• This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
• Employee may be required to work overtime or an irregular work shift.
