Why This is an Exciting Role:
BI&A is seeking a Security Systems Administrator who develops, configures, and maintains systems that log and monitor network threats and security breaches. Designs and implements comprehensive security solutions to protect organizational data and network infrastructure. Manages firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security protocols while maintaining network architecture in accordance with business policies
Experience and Qualifications:
To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:
Required Education and Years of Experience:
• 8 Years of experience in Systems Administration roles or a highly related field of work with similar scope and responsibilities.
• A Bachelor's degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience, and a Master's Degree may be substituted for 6 years of experience.
Required Qualifications:
• TS/SCI with an active CI Polygraph
• Proven experience implementing and managing security infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies
• Experience with security monitoring and incident response
• Strong knowledge of network security principles and best practices
• Knowledge of routing protocols including MPLS, HAIPE/IP, QoS, and WAN
• Understanding of encryption technologies and data protection methods
• Familiarity with secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, SCP)
• Willingness and ability to work flexible schedules, including potential shift work
Desired Qualifications:
• Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator)
• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Scripting/programming skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
• Experience with security automation and orchestration (SOAR)
• Knowledge of threat intelligence platforms
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing demands
• Experience with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira Service Management)
• Data center management experience
