Position Summary
The Physical Security Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, reliability, and day-to-day operational support of the organization's enterprise physical security systems, including physical access control (PACS) and video management systems (VMS). This is a mid-level individual contributor role focused on system sustainment, coordination, and operational support in a critical infrastructure / utility environment. The role supports ongoing operations as well as an enterprise platform transition from Lenel to Genetec, working with internal stakeholders and external integrators to maintain system availability, continuity, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Physical Security Systems Administration
  • Administer, monitor, and support enterprise PACS and VMS platforms, including alarms, system health monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Perform routine system administration tasks such as configuration updates, testing, validation, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Support access provisioning, credential workflows, and physical security procedures with authorized stakeholders.
  • Assist with support of both legacy Lenel systems and Genetec platforms during parallel operations.

Platform Transition & Operational Support
  • Support the ongoing transition from Lenel to Genetec through validation testing, basic operational readiness activities, and post-cutover support.
  • Coordinate with integrators and internal teams to support system changes while maintaining operational continuity.
  • Assist with maintaining operational procedures, runbooks, and support documentation.

Infrastructure, Coordination & Vendors
  • Coordinate with Corporate IT on server, application, and network dependencies supporting physical security systems.
  • Monitor system performance and availability and escalate issues as needed.
  • Support disaster recovery readiness and system restoration activities in coordination with IT and vendors.
  • Coordinate third-party maintenance and vendor support activities for physical security systems.

Required Education and Experience
  • A bachelor's degree, equivalent certifications, or equivalent work experience in the industry.

Other Requirements
  • Experience in IT for at least eight years and advanced knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
