Job description

Summary:
To protect, preserve and safeguard the employees, members, and physical assets at all Addition Financial locations. Provide physical security of all credit union locations through use of video monitoring, surveillance, access control, policy development and implementation, etc. This is accomplished through implementation of a formal Security Program. This position requires the utmost confidentiality and maintaining security related scenarios private and guarded. Coordinate the credit union's activities related to physical security of all credit union locations, including access control, video monitoring, and related functions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish and enforce security policies and procedures; ensures proper training is in place, and revises the Security Manual as necessary.
  • Participate, as necessary, in investigations related to security breaches or violations of security policies.
  • Establish appropriate security and emergency policies/procedures and a written plan of action
  • Provide management with recommendations regarding the effectiveness of internal controls and established security policies/procedures.
  • Remains informed on industry best practices, new technologies, and trends and applies what they learn to AFCU Security programs.
  • Monitor the installation, maintenance and operation of security devices maintained by the credit union.
  • Monitor credit union compliance with federal regulations regarding office security.
  • Prepare the appropriate security reports for review by management, including recommendations for appropriate revisions.
  • Ensure that all security devices at each branch/office are inspected, tested, serviced, and maintained in working condition. Security devices include alarm systems, surveillance cameras, etc.
  • Serve as the credit union's liaison with law enforcement and other such agencies established to aid in an emergency.
  • Notify management of all violations of the established security program.
  • Efficiently communicate with outside departments and branch locations.
  • Conduct security patrols of assigned Addition Financial facilities to assure worker safety, protection of site assets and to identify and report safety hazards and malfunctioning equipment.
  • Respond to emergency calls; contact police, fire and rescue as required
  • Assist with Disaster Recovery efforts as needed and assigned by management.
  • Respond to branch alarms and access violations; notify Senior Management, Branch Manager, Legal Department management, and/or police, as required.
  • Manage all stages of access control for AFCU Facilities, including badge creation/credential management, system maintenance, and auditing.
  • Maintain security in all Addition Financial buildings and surrounding areas keeping an eye out for suspicious activity.
  • Regularly inspect all aspects of AFCU Security systems to ensure proper functionality; perform or contract maintenance as-needed, and proactively maintain all systems in accordance with industry best practices
  • Assist staff in event of robbery or other security violation
  • Oversee shredding and destruction of confidential documents.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as directed by management.

REQUIREMENTS
Education:
  • Associate's degree (A.A./A.S.) preferred; or other relative experience can be considered

Experience:
  • Vendor Management/Oversight, especially as it relates to Security vendors
  • Development and implementation of security training programs
  • Advanced technical expertise in alarm and camera configuration, function, maintenance, and operation
  • Access Control programs and user administration; specifically role-based access control
  • Installation and maintenance of security equipment - both hardware and software
  • Exposure to law enforcement (e.g., patrol, investigations, school resource officer, etc.), or private corporate security
  • Familiar with:
    • applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
    • physical security functions, systems, processes, and procedures
    • credit union products, services, programs, policies, and procedures
