Special Security Representative (SSR): Protect Our Nation's Most Sensitive Intelligence!
Are you a highly disciplined security professional ready to manage the defense of our nation's most closely held intelligence? We are seeking an appointed Special Security Representative (SSR) to lead the day-to-day operations and administration of our Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) program.
In this critical role within the Security and Intelligence Operations Branch, you will stand as the primary shield protecting vital software development and sustainment missions from espionage, terrorism, and unauthorized disclosure. You will ensure our developers can innovate safely in an absolutely secure environment.
As the appointed SSR and a core defender of our intelligence operations, you will take hands-on responsibility for our classified enclaves. You will:
- Lead SCI Security & Administration: Serve as the appointed Special Security Representative (SSR), taking absolute responsibility for the day-to-day management, implementation, and administrative compliance of the organization's SCI Security program.
- Enforce DoD & DIA Standards: Administer and enforce rigorous security protocols that support Department of Defense (DoD) and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Sensitive Compartmented Information programs.
- Defend Against Espionage & Terrorism: Actively protect the organization and its vital mission interests from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure of highly classified national security information.
- Support Multi-Disciplinary Security: Assist in executing a comprehensive security posture across multidisciplinary functions, including Physical, Personnel, Information, Industrial, Operations (OPSEC), and Communications (COMSEC) Security, as well as Antiterrorism and Force Protection.
- Integrate Security with Intelligence: Collaborate with our all-source intelligence analysis teams to ensure our security measures are perfectly aligned to support, protect, and enable secure software development and sustainment workloads.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizenship
- The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty
- Position is designated special-sensitive and requires a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance.
- Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall. Incumbent may be required to report to work during base exercises, contingencies, or emergency situations and overtime/comp time/credit hours may be required to accomplish assigned duties.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.
Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
1. Mastery of knowledge of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices to independently manage assigned SCI programs.
2. Extensive knowledge of AFMC's mission, functions, and structure to the unit level to ensure effective implementation and oversight of special programs security concepts, principles, and practices.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of the intelligence community directives applicable to the establishment and management of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities.
4. Expert knowledge of General Supply Administration (GSA) specifications; state-of-the-art detection and surveillance systems, construction standards, automated data processing systems and other security concepts to integrate the requirements of all security disciplines into guidance for the implementation and management of the AFMC SCI security programs.
5. Expert knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to conduct surveys/studies, accomplish projects, and effectively evaluate results for the effective management and completion of SCI programs.
6. Able to effectively manage and organize various program activities and tasks, singularly and together, and familiar with administrative requirements of DoD, USAF, AFMC and DIA.
