JOB SUMMARY:
Join our team at Rocket Arena as an Event Security Officer (Part-Time) and play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests at exciting events! Under the direction of Safety/Security Event Sergeants, Event Security Officers are responsible for all event-related security at Rocket Arena during games and events. You'll interact with staff, guests, vendors, and visitors while monitoring entrances/exits, handling guest issues, providing information, and controlling access to the venue. ** All Event Security Officers will join the Local B-27 Union.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform event and non-event security duties as assigned.
  • Conduct pre-event and post-event building safety inspections.
  • Admit authorized personnel according to established security procedures.
  • Answer information requests from staff and guests.
  • Protect Arena equipment, materials, and structures.
  • Manage lost and found items according to team procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid State of Ohio identification.
  • Flexibility to work any day of the week, including weekends and various shift times.
    • It is mandatory that you will be scheduled for all Cavs Games and large concerts, there is a rotation schedule for smaller events.
  • Available Monday-Friday from 4:30 PM until 2 hours post-event.
  • Available Saturdays and Sundays for any event start time until 2 hours post-event.
  • Ability to work all ticketed events at Rocket Arena (mandatory per union guidelines).
  • All candidates will be subject to a background check before receiving an offer letter.
  • Must maintain a clean, neat appearance and wear complete Rocket Arena issued Security uniform at all times while on duty.
Physical Endurance & Emergency Response Qualifications (REQUIRED):
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of 5-7 hours without concerns.
  • Capability to maintain alertness and vigilance throughout long shifts.
  • Proficiency in navigating multiple levels of stairs repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to navigate one full round of the main concourse in 3 minutes or less.
  • Ability to carry 25lbs up and down a flight of stairs.
  • Physical fitness to respond swiftly to emergencies, including running or climbing stairs quickly when needed.
  • Ability to navigate one full round of the main concourse in 3 minutes or less.
  • Sufficient upper body and core strength to assist and move injured guests when necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects or individuals during emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous security experience preferred, not required.
  • Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) certification.
