The Plateau Travel Plaza is opening soon, and we are building a reliable security team to support our newly remodeled and expanded property, including our gaming floor, Cstore, and Three Teepees Café.

We are currently seeking a full-time Security Officer who is calm, observant, and professional. This full-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with the public, takes pride in maintaining a safe environment, and can respond appropriately to a variety of situations while providing respectful guest service.

What you’ll do

  • Maintain a visible security presence throughout the property
  • Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, concerns, or emergencies
  • Assist with enforcing company policies and procedures
  • Communicate clearly with guests, team members, and supervisors
  • Complete required reports and documentation accurately
  • Observe and report safety hazards or suspicious activity
  • Support a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment

Benefits, Compensation, & Perks

The starting wage for a Security Officer is $18.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE), plus a shift differential for nonstandard hours, ranging from an additional $0.50 to $2.50 per hour, depending on the shift worked.

Eligible full-time team members also have access to a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Health insurance with low deductibles for individuals and families
  • 401(k) retirement plan options
  • Employer-paid life and disability insurance
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
  • And much more!

Plus:

  • One free meal per shift for all team members
  • Multiple employee appreciation events and programs throughout the year, including company-sponsored family fair days, movie nights, and monthly prize drawings

Benefits eligibility and offerings vary by position and employment status.

A few qualities we’re looking for:

  • Previous security or related experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong observation, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
  • Comfort working independently and making sound judgments
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License
  • Eligible for company vehicle insurance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a gaming license
  • Ability to pass a criminal history background check and pre-employment drug testing
  • First aid and CPR certification a plus, but we will provide any required training and certification for the right candidate
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
