The Opportunity:
We are currently searching for an Editor for the Marketing & Communications division. The Editor is accountable for providing the necessary editorial services (proofreading, line editing, rewrites, full writing) based on individual client needs for all output of the marketing department (including but not limited to communications, campaigns, presentations, social media, blog posts, conference materials - brochures, programs, emails, signage, and scripts - magazines, newsletters, public relations, videos, and webinars, as well as from all other areas of LIMRA and LOMA (all research materials, publications forms, executive communications, course materials, EE newsletters, and product summaries) while adhering to strict service level agreements.
This position will report to the Senior Editor. The role has a very flexible hybrid 'Work for Your Day' work arrangement. The role is hybrid in either Atlanta, GA, or Windsor, CT, or can be fulltime remote.
What You'll Do:
  • As a LIMRA and LOMA brand ambassador, ensure consistent adherence to brand standards, identifying and working with CVP of Marketing to resolve
  • Ensure that language and terminology is consistent across campaigns, communications, courses, products and solutions, and research
  • Maintain and ensure adherence to appropriate editorial style guides (AP and Chicago Manual of Style)
  • Verify that all statistics are sourced
  • Ensure correct disclosure language is used
  • Verify the accuracy of the information by checking against the creative brief (or other backup documentation)
  • Verify accuracy of all calls to action, including phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs
  • Ability to identify design inconsistencies or errors and partner with Design to resolve
  • Liaise between design and clients to ensure quality deliverables and timely response
  • Contribute to Marketing's role in supporting strategic business objectives as a highly collaborative partner to internal clients
  • Editorial consultant to freelancers
  • Track, compile, and create monthly editorial metrics
  • Partner with Marketing Operations Manager to create and facilitate use of a streamlined tracking system
  • Ensure our content is inclusive and representative of LIMRA and LOMA's commitment to inclusiveness

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in writing, English, or journalism
  • Expert in Chicago Manual of Style and AP Style
  • Minimum 5+ years of copywriting experience, preferably in insurance or banking

What Do You Need to Succeed?
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of the full Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • A strong writing acumen to simplify the value of highly complex products, when needed
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines, successfully plan, organize and multi-task in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work, often under difficult deadlines
  • Strong conceptual thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent understanding of traditional and online marketing methods (e-newsletters, print collateral, website content, social media etc.)
  • Team player, creative, organized and detail oriented
