Position Information:
We are currently hiring School Bus Drivers. No school bus driving experience required. All training, lasting approximately 4 to 7 weeks, will be provided at the training pay rate. Enjoy working Monday-Friday with holidays and school breaks off. This is challenging, exciting, and rewarding work serving a diverse population of students in the areas of Edmonds, Lynnwood, Woodway, Brier, and Mountlake Terrace.   • All drivers, if hired upon successful completion of driver training, are hired as relief drivers and do not have access to paid holidays, paid vacation or personal leave.
  • Paid holidays available if hired in a regular driver position.
  • Drivers hired as substitute drivers will not qualify for benefits until they have worked at least 630 hours.
    Responsibilities:
  1. Be on-call for routes, starting as early as 5:00 a.m. (Hours vary greatly according to the assignment.)
  2. Safely transport students to/from school and on field trips.
  3. Drive large and small school buses with automatic transmission.
  4. Read maps and follow directions/run sheets for routes.
  5. Successful student behavior management.
  6. Perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections.
  7. Assist students in the loading and unloading process.
  8. Clean and maintain school buses and fuel buses as required.
  9. Maintain composure under pressure.
  10. Update daily paperwork/records.

Required Qualifications:
  1. At least 21 years old.
  2. Valid Washington State driver's license.
  3. Have at least five years of experience as a licensed driver of a passenger vehicle.
  4. Good driving record.
  5. Pass a background/fingerprint check; subject to random drug tests after hire.
  6. Skills in written and verbal communication.
  7. Willing to obtain a Commercial Driver's License - all necessary training will be provided by the School District.

Compensation:
2025-2026 Hourly Rate: $36.83- $42.23 per hour
