Job description

Va Meditrans, a prominent regional leader in non-emergency medical transportation, provides daily services to clients undergoing dialysis, medical appointments, and residing in group homes.


We are seeking qualified and skilled non-emergency medical transportation drivers to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our clients, facilities, and dispatch to ensure the safe and comfortable transportation of our most valuable asset - our clients.


Your responsibilities will include safely loading, transporting, and unloading immobile and wheelchair-bound clients using stretchers or wheelchair-accessible minivans. You will also assist clients into stretchers and wheelchairs, properly secure them in the vehicle, and maintain constant communication with dispatch. Additionally, you will ensure that the transport vehicles are properly mechanically maintained and clean, log all transports on applicable devices and sheets, cross-train and perform other duties as assigned.


To be eligible for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:


- Be able to lift 100+ pounds, transferring patients to stretchers, vehicles, and appointments.

- Maintain a clean driving record with no more than two traffic infractions in the past three years.

- Pass a background check and drug screenings.

- Have intimate knowledge of the Lynchburg area and surrounding areas (zip codes, streets, regions).

- Demonstrate strong digital, phone, and written communication skills.

- Be organized, neat, and technologically adept.

- Effective at managing competing, high-level priorities and managing periods of stressful workloads.


The hours of work are from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with weekend work availability and overtime opportunities.
