Posting Summary
The Division of Urology within the Department of Surgery at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) seeks a board-certified or board-eligible General Urologist for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS). Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and academic accomplishments.
The successful candidate will join a growing academic urology practice within Rutgers Health and will provide comprehensive urologic care to a diverse patient population. Responsibilities include outpatient and inpatient clinical care, participation in surgical services, resident and medical student education, and engagement in scholarly activities consistent with an academic appointment.
This position offers an exceptional opportunity to develop a robust clinical practice within a leading academic health system while contributing to the Department's missions of patient care, education, research, and community service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive adult urologic care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Perform general urologic surgical procedures, including minimally invasive and endoscopic procedures, such as prostate biopsy, medical and surgical stone management, BPH management, etc.
  • Participate in the department's call schedule.
  • Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and other learners in clinical and surgical settings.
  • Participate in departmental weekly educational conferences, morbidity and mortality conferences, and quality improvement initiatives, with twice annual visiting professor conferences.
  • Engage in scholarly activities appropriate to academic rank, including clinical research, educational scholarship, quality improvement, or other academic pursuits.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Rutgers Health and affiliated institutions to advance patient care and academic programs.
  • Support the strategic growth and development of the Division of Urology.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
  • MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Urology Residency Program.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Urology.
  • Eligibility for appointment to the faculty of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
  • Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of New Jersey.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in clinical care and medical education.

Certifications/Licenses
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology.
  • Eligible for unrestricted New Jersey medical licensure.
  • DEA registration and CDS license, or eligibility to obtain upon hire.
