Cotton Citizen

Full-time

Job description

The Role
Cotton Citizen is looking for a data-driven Lifecycle Marketing Manager to report to the VP of Digital and architect our global retention strategy. You will bridge the gap between high-end L.A. luxury and performance-driven automation, working with our marketing and creative departments to turn our signature dye treatments and core essentials into high-converting digital narratives. You will manage the technical end-to-end lifecycle-leveraging deep segmentation and cross-channel automation across email and SMS-to ensure every touchpoint in our customers' inboxes and pockets feels as premium as our products while aggressively driving Lifetime Value (LTV) and brand loyalty.
This is a full-time position, on-site, five days a week.
Technical Requirements
  • Klaviyo Mastery: 3+ years of experience building complex, event-based automated flows and managing sophisticated segmentation (Predictive Analytics, LTV-based cohorts).
  • SMS Strategy: Proven track record in scaling SMS channels (Attentive, Postscript, or Klaviyo SMS) with a focus on acquisition (2-step opt-ins) and high-ROI flows.
  • Data Literacy: Expert-level understanding of GA4 and Shopify Analytics. You should be comfortable analyzing the conversion gap between mobile and desktop and using data to drive strategy.
  • E-commerce Ecosystem: Deep familiarity with the Shopify Plus environment and how it integrates with third-party tools (e.g., Searchspring).
  • Testing Rigor: Experience running structured A/B and multivariate tests across subject lines, send times, and flow logic to isolate variables and drive incremental lift.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Lifecycle Architecture: Build, maintain, and optimize the end-to-end automated journey (Welcome, Browse Abandonment, Cart Abandonment, Post-Purchase, and Win-back).
  • Data-Driven Segmentation: Mine the Shopify database to identify high-value cohorts and deliver hyper-relevant messaging to each.
  • Channel Management: Lead a collaborative planning process by pitching data-informed strategies to the Marketing team for alignment, then take full ownership of the Email and SMS calendars to execute a precise balance of brand-led product drops and "always-on" automated revenue.
  • Performance Reporting: Deliver weekly and monthly reports to VP of Digital on Revenue Per Recipient (RPR), Subscriber Growth, and Customer Retention Rates.
  • Friction Reduction: Continuously audit the "Path to Purchase" from email/SMS to mobile landing pages, identifying and solving UI/UX friction points to improve mobile conversion.
  • Collaborative Execution: Work closely with the Marketing and Creative team to brief assets that meet the brand's aesthetic standards while remaining optimized for technical delivery and load speeds.
  • List Hygiene & Deliverability: Proactively manage list health to ensure maximum reach and inbox placement, navigating the complexities of modern ISP and carrier requirements.
Core Values:
  • Intellectual Curiosity: You are a 'forever student' of e-commerce, constantly testing new SMS tactics and keeping a pulse on how privacy changes (like iOS updates) affect deliverability.
  • Kindness is Non-Negotiable: You lead with empathy and respect. We are a fast-moving team, and we believe that staying kind under pressure is a superpower.
  • Lack of Ego: You are mission-driven, not credit-driven. You possess the humility to take feedback from other teams and the self-awareness to admit when a strategy isn't working so we can find a better one together.
  • Collaborative Diplomacy: You understand that reporting to Digital while supporting Marketing requires a high degree of emotional intelligence. You are a bridge-builder who thrives on cross-functional success.
