Long Island Vitreoretinal Consultants, one of the largest providers of Retina specialty is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse to work in our Westbury, Great Neck & Rockville Centre locations.
In this position we are looking for a compassionate and energetic registered nurse for our busy practice to deliver exceptional patient care to our patients.
Roles & Responsibilities:
โ€ข Assist physicians with procedures, BP, Glucometer
โ€ข Drawing up drugs for injections
โ€ข Drawing up drugs for Endophthalmitis - Prepare antibiotics for intravitreal injection
โ€ข Complete lab requisitions; call lab for specimen pick up if needed; Follow up on all labs.
โ€ข Maintain, verify and log all inventory of all drugs
โ€ข Call patients after 1st time injections
โ€ข Prepare retrobulbar and subconj anesthesia
โ€ข Checking expiration dates & stock levels of all drugs
โ€ข Performing FA/ICG injections and monitor signs/symptoms of adverse reactions
โ€ข Triage nursing calls through the on call system and messages from staff
โ€ข Completing Disability forms/DMV forms/all excuse letters-school/work/gym.
โ€ข Complete referral forms for patients (Forsee/Helen Keller/Lighthouse).
โ€ข Monitor Emergency Kit, Spill kit & Endophthalmitis kit inventories and expiration dates
โ€ข Monitor refrigerator temperatures; document them in the log book
โ€ข Coordinating appointments and necessary paperwork for in office treatments
โ€ข E-prescribing all medications
โ€ข Make sure all rooms are shut down and closed at the end of the day - equipment cleaned, turned off and covered
โ€ข Counsel pre-op patients regarding procedure and medications
โ€ข Write out the pre-op drop instructions
โ€ข Review medical history and medications with the patients
On the job training will be provided
REQUIRED:
โ€ข Varied Shifts 4x10 Monday- Saturday - Saturday will be a required day.
