General Description
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the RN Unit Manager is responsible for maintaining the standards of nursing care and practices of up to 60 residents while meeting the physical, psychosocial, and rehabilitation needs of the residents. The RN Unit Manager is also responsible for the daily management of LPNs and CNAs on the unit while coordinating care, performing assessments, and adhering to documentation guidelines.
DUTIES
JOBKNOWLEDGE AND ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Knowledgeof age specific developmental factors specific to adult and geriatricresidents (i.e. physical, cognitive, and socialization factors) inplanning delivery of care.
2.Knowledge,skills, and techniques necessary to care for residents with thefollowing needs: alzheimers, dementia, dialysis, IV therapy,infectious diseases, wound care, and all disease processes ifapplicable.
3.Providesnursing care in accordance with Resident Care Policies and Proceduresand ensures the safety and well-being of the residents is maintained.
4.Makesdaily rounds for all areas of nursing care under his/her supervision,visits each resident to evaluate physical and emotional condition toreceive comments relating to the resident's needs and problems, andimplements necessary nursing interventions.
UNITMANAGER - REGISTERED NURSE QUALIFICATIONS
-Aregistered nurse with a current MS license, with no restrictions
-Longterm care (LTC) experience
-Computerskills
-Excellentdocumentation skills
