Job description

We are looking for people interested in learning and developing their careers in light, wood finishing manufacturing company for our client located in Surrey. This is a permanent full-time position with a company that was founded in 1971 and just recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Our client provides Western Canada with high-quality semi custom cabinets.

The Warehouse Packager is responsible for handing material that is required to be wrapped in order to be shipped to the customers.

Responsibilities will include the identification and discarding of defective products, performing all work in a safe manner, cleaning and maintaining a safe work area, compressed air and personal protective equipment. Work in a fast pace manner, and able to lift up to 50 pounds

You will:

  • Physical strength is required for manual material handlers who work with heavy materials
  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Stand for long periods of time when preforming repetitive tasks
  • Punctual with attendance
  • Pay strong attention to detail along with following directions and manuals
  • Be team player with a positive attitude
  • Work well under pressure
  • Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment
  • Check in-process and completed production items for visual or mechanical defects
  • Identify and mark acceptable and defective assemblies and return faulty assemblies to production for repair
  • Read and interpret work orders to package finished goods
  • Label and scan barcodes once package is wrapped
  • Place finished goods on conveyor belt to be moved to the warehouse
  • Fold and assemble packaging materials when required
  • Ensure work area is cleaned before shifts end
  • Other duties as delegated by the Lead Hand
