Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and evaluations to accurately determine clients’ mental health needs, which inform individualized treatment approaches.
• Provide tailored one-on-one counseling sessions, helping clients navigate and cope with a variety of mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders.
• Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions, focusing on support groups and psychoeducational programs that foster community and mutual healing.
• Develop, implement, and monitor personalized treatment plans, clearly defining therapeutic goals and interventions that align with the unique circumstances of each client.
• Respond effectively to clients in crisis, providing immediate support, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating emergency interventions as necessary.
• Stay current with evidence-based practices in mental health counseling by actively participating in ongoing professional development workshops and training programs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive and holistic care for all clients.

Qualifications

• A master's or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
• Must hold a valid state license as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York.
• Completion of three years of supervised clinical experience is essential, demonstrating your ability to provide high-quality counseling services.
• Ongoing professional development to meet regulatory requirements and maintain licensure is expected, showcasing your dedication to staying abreast of industry standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, enabling you to effectively engage with a variety of clients and colleagues.

Preferred Experience

• Additional certifications or specialized training in areas such as trauma-focused therapy, addiction counseling, or family therapy are considered a plus and can enhance your application.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems can facilitate more efficient documentation and client management.
• A history of group therapy facilitation or community engagement efforts would be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
