This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to manage your schedule while maintaining a regular workweek from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. • Conduct thorough mental health assessments of elderly clients, identifying specific emotional and psychological care needs.
• Deliver individual and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing various life challenges, including coping strategies for aging, loss, and life transitions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care plans that resonate with each client's unique circumstances.
• Educate family members and healthcare staff about effective strategies to enhance the mental and emotional well-being of elderly individuals.
• Provide grief and bereavement counseling to residents and their families, guiding them through end-of-life issues with empathy and understanding.
• Design and facilitate cognitive stimulation programs and targeted mental health interventions to foster mental acuity in older adults.

Our primary focus is on seniors facing various challenges associated with aging. This includes providing mental health support for those experiencing cognitive decline, emotional distress related to loss, or adjustment difficulties in their later years. A deep understanding of geriatric mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, and chronic illness, is essential for success in this role.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid license as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State.
• A minimum of four years of demonstrated experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.

• Specialized training or certifications in geriatric mental health care and aging-related challenges.
• A solid background in delivering mental health services to elderly clients dealing with various mental health issues.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices that effectively promote mental well-being among the older population.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to build rapport and trust with elderly clients and their families.
• Cultural competence and empathy in working with seniors from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that care is respectful and individualized.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing personalized treatment plans and performing comprehensive assessments.
• Knowledge of ethical and legal standards governing geriatric mental health counseling.

The salary for the Licensed Mental Health Counselor position ranges from USD 65,000 to USD 95,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer a competitive sign-on bonus to welcome you to our team.
