About the Organization

Union Counseling Center, located in Wichita, Kansas, is committed to delivering high-quality outpatient mental health care services. Our practice is renowned for its culturally competent approach, emphasizing the importance of addressing the specific needs of ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ communities, and immigrant populations. We foster a collaborative and integrative clinical setting where each team member contributes to creating a vibrant and supportive atmosphere for both clients and staff.

Work Environment

This full-time position is structured to be primarily remote, allowing for flexibility while still providing critical services to our patients. Our outpatient office setting ensures that therapists can easily collaborate and coordinate care, though the bulk of therapy sessions will occur virtually. You can expect a supportive and inclusive team culture where ongoing training and professional development are priorities.

Key Responsibilities

As a therapist at Union Counseling Center, you will play a crucial role in helping these clients navigate their mental health challenges, significantly improving their quality of life and community integration.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of a current and valid license as LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Kansas.
  • A deep understanding of various mental health disorders along with evidence-based treatment modalities and cultural competence in therapy.
  • Prior experience in delivering individual and group therapy, utilizing an approach that respects and acknowledges cultural differences.
  • Strong crisis intervention skills, demonstrating an ability to maintain composure and provide support during high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to establish rapport and trust with clients of diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and proficiency with related software applications.
  • A commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and maintaining healthy professional boundaries.
  • Ability to work cohesively as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing therapy in a multicultural setting, tailored to the specific needs of varied populations.
  • Proficiency in using evidence-based practices and a demonstrated record of positive patient outcomes.
  • Experience with crisis intervention and conflict resolution in clinical settings.
Compensation and Benefits
