Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations to accurately assess clients' needs, documenting findings meticulously from initial consultations through the conclusion of treatment.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans for individuals, couples, and families, drawing upon the latest psychotherapeutic techniques to promote recovery.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, fostering an open environment where clients can express themselves and work on their issues.
  • Regularly monitor clients' progress in relation to their treatment plans, making adjustments as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
  • Collaboratively create intervention plans alongside other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive client care.
  • Maintain vigilant follow-up with clients recently admitted to hospital care, coordinating with attending psychiatrists regarding any ongoing treatment needs.
  • Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement preventive strategies to help clients maintain their treatment progress.
  • Support family members and primary caregivers by offering resources and strategies to manage mental health challenges within the family dynamic.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will directly impact a diverse array of clients, from individuals coping with anxiety and depression to families navigating complex relational dynamics. You will address conditions related to mental health, emotional well-being, and various behavioral disorders, offering customized interventions to help clients achieve their goals. The care environment places an emphasis on creating a client-centered approach, ensuring that each individual's unique circumstances are respected and prioritized.

Qualifications
  • A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) within the state of Illinois.
  • A successful score on the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • A proven track record of providing successful mental health counseling, showcasing adequate clinical experience.
Preferred Experience
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to document client interactions and treatment progress efficiently.
  • Experience in working with clients who have underlying physical health conditions or addiction disorders, demonstrating sensitivity toward intersecting issues.
  • Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices, providing a framework for quality care.
  • An understanding of the impact of prescribed medications on mental health, which may be relevant to treatment approaches.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a compassionate and empathetic approach to client interactions.
