Position Overview

Grateful Guidance Psychiatric Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of working remotely while closely collaborating with an experienced medical team. As a professional counselor, you will engage with medical directors and team administrators to create seamless mental health treatment pathways for all clients. Our outpatient office setting focuses on outpatient care, allowing you to develop meaningful, ongoing relationships with patients as you guide them through their mental health journeys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and the medical team to coordinate comprehensive mental health treatment plans, ensuring integration of care both within and outside of the facility.
  • Deliver mental health in-service training sessions to medical, psychiatric, and security staff, enhancing team awareness and response to mental health issues.
  • Actively intervene and de-escalate mental health crises within the facility, ensuring a safe environment for all patients and staff.
  • Attend commitment hearings as required, advocating for clients and supporting their legal and emotional needs.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans and therapeutic goals, regularly monitoring the progress and adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Document all patient interactions meticulously, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and maintaining the confidentiality of medical records.
  • Verify patientsโ€™ mental health histories, including assessments of previous psychotropic medications, to inform current treatment decisions.
  • Compile and prepare detailed reports on treatment progress, patient feedback, and any additional insights required by the team.
  • Coordinate post-release referrals by collaborating effectively with nursing and mental health staff to support patients' transitions back into the community.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will focus on a diverse array of patients facing a spectrum of mental health challenges, from acute crises to ongoing management of chronic conditions. In this role, you will engage with a wide variety of individuals, each with unique backgrounds and needs. Your sensitivity to the diverse experiences of individuals will help build trust and rapport, critical components of effective counseling.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • An active and unrestricted license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical counseling experience is required, ensuring you are equipped to handle a range of client scenarios.
