Telehealth Therapist

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location Requirement: This position is 100% remote.  Employees are expected to maintain a professional home workspace that allows them to perform the essential functions of the role while complying with all APN policies regarding confidentiality, data security, and remote work expectations.

Licensure: Current unrestricted clinical licensure in New York, including: LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LMHC. Other equivalent independent behavioral health license.  Ability to obtain and maintain licensure in states served by All Points North Telehealth. Colorado licensure required; must apply prior to start date.

About the Position

The Telehealth Therapist at All Points North is responsible for providing the highest levels of Addiction and Mental Healt h treatment services in a telehealth treatment facility. Telehealth therapists are responsible for providing individual and group counseling services to patients and families. The Telehealth Therapist works as part of an Interdisciplinary team helping to develop individualized t reat m e nt p lan s for each pat ient , facilitating  its focus, goa ls and execut ion. The Telehealth IOP w ill carry a case load of p atients and work diligently to help each patient find their path to recovery and change. Th is posit ion covers outpatient and intensive outpat ie n t caseload s in a t e lehealth setting.

The Telehealth Therapist plays a critical role in t he delivery of care. Therapists are responsible for developing rapport with patients to effectively assess, address and  treat Addiction  and Mental Health Disorders. Concurrently, the telehealth therapist is responsible for helping pat ie nts  address issues related to family dynamics, self-esteem , life skills, and other issues.

The telehealth therapist also works closely with the All Points North Residential Team to support with family therapy and clients transitioning to lower levels of care in the telehealth setting.

Qualifications

Education

This position requires an appropriate level of education; however, a combination of relevant education and work experience will be considered.

Master's or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Professional Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health discipline from an accredited institution.

Experience

Required:

  • Minimum three years of clinical experience providing behavioral health treatment.
  • Experience treating mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • Experience providing telehealth services.

Preferred:

  • Intensive Outpatient or Outpatient treatment experience.
  • Family and couples therapy experience.
  • Trauma-informed treatment experience.
  • Co-occurring disorders experience.
  • Experience facilitating virtual groups.

Special Skills & Knowledge

Candidates should have the following skills and attributes: must be able to work and communicate well with people; be adaptable, and accept changes quickly and easily; be willing to address conflict appropriately. Basic computer skills are required with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based products knowledge a bonus.

While this is a remote telehealth position, the following physical capabilities support successful job performance:

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer workstation for extended periods
  • Routine mobility including standing, walking, and basic movement
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Materials & Equipment

All necessary clinical and technology equipment will be provided and approved by All Points North to ensure HIPAA compliance and clinical security standards.

Position Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Provides Counseling of individuals and families
  • Work in a telehealth Intensive Outpatient Setting.
  • Facilitate psycho-educational, experiential and process groups.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate progress and incident notes on clients in EMR system. Attend regular case staffing and reviews with Clinical teams.
  • Attend in-service, staffing, seminars and classes as required.
  • Conduct psychosocial evaluations, create individualized treatment plans, ongoing treatment plan reviews and discharge summaries for clients.
  • Collaborate with clinical team, case management team, referent and family for after care planning
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to individuals, groups and families as needed.
  • Provide ongoing and consistent clinical updates to client's family and referents.
  • Evaluate the individual and family system as well as assess client's functioning within work, family and routines of daily living and identify areas needing change, resources and treatment in order to best help each client.
  • Ability to tailor treatment strategies to the patient's stage of dependence, change and recovery.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the principals of addiction.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the role Developmental trauma plays in addiction and other dysfunctional behaviors.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the psychological, behavioral, physical health and social effects of psychoactive substances on patients.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of models and theories for treatment of Trauma, Addiction and Mental Health Disorders.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain partnerships with other community providers.
  • Evaluate the individual and family systems as well as assess patient's functioning within work, family and routines of daily living and identify areas needing change, resources and treatment in order to best help each patient.
  • Maintain the highest level of ethical standards and integrity.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate progress and incident notes on patients in EMR system.
  • Perform Clinical assessments, case management, consultation, referral and education according to the All Points North Treatment model.
  • Recognizes the importance of family, social networks and community systems in the treatment & recovery process.
  • Understand the established diagnostic criteria for substance use disorders and describe treatment modalities and placement criteria.
  • Understand the importance of research and outcome data in clinical practice.
  • Understand the value of an interdisciplinary approach to treatment.
