The expected base salary range for this position is $73,350 to $114,000. This salary range may vary based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, education, and geographic location.
JOB SUMMARY: The Citrix Engineer will be responsible for the administration, management and support of Citrix applications to enable daily operations and service continuity/business continuity planning (BCP). This position will also build, deliver, and maintain desktop OS and application images. The Citrix Engineer will train desk-side support team on end user support tasks for VDI and resolve any escalated (L3 support) user tickets. This position will require the incumbent to be available to respond to off-hours support for emergency situations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The accountabilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
  • Responsible for Citrix management, participating in establishing platform standards, capacity planning, patching, upgrades, health checks, availability and performance troubleshooting and resolution, and license management.
  • Build, deliver and maintain desktop OS and application images. Participate in testing, provisioning desktops, configure and manage policies, and desktop image housekeeping activities.
  • Responsible for Citrix administration and support using Citrix Studio, Director, and PVS.
  • Participate in Citrix DR Tests in support of mission critical IT service continuity/BCP planning.
  • Train desk-side support team on end user support tasks for VDI.
  • Resolve any escalated (L3 support) user tickets.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and related documentation and communication.
  • Complete assigned tasks and projects in a timely manner and in compliance with all relevant IT policies and procedures with limited supervision.
  • Respond to off-hours support for emergency situations.
  • Participate in meetings, compliance, and job-related training (including SOP reading, certification, etc.) as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or 11+ years of progressive Information Technology work experience related to this role.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
  • 7+ years of IT experience in a medium to large IT enterprise with documented policies and procedures.
  • 5+ years of experience -
    • With Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop, preferably in versions CVAD 240x, in establishing platform standards, capacity planning, patching, upgrades, health checks, availability and performance troubleshooting and resolution and license management
    • Deploying and managing VDI's using Citrix PVS and MCS, including building, delivering and maintaining desktop OS and application images, participating in testing, provisioning desktops, configuring and managing policies and caring for desktop image housekeeping activities
    • Citrix administration and support using Citrix Studio, Director and Citrix profile management to create and manage machine catalogs, delivery groups and provision and support of virtual desktops
    • Microsoft Windows OS versions 10 and 11 and remote desktop management tools like LogMeIn
    • Citrix NetScaler (ADC) appliances, virtual and physical
  • Experience in setting up Azure desktops and management.
  • Good working knowledge of Citrix platform DR capability, deployment, and support with experience participating in Citrix DR Tests in support of mission critical IT service continuity/BCP planning.
  • Good working knowledge of Active Directory, Windows 10, 11, and related Microsoft tools like SCCM.
  • Good working knowledge of IT networks (LAN, WAN), routers, switches, etc.
  • Possess sound technical knowledge, strong work ethic and superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and acquire new skills.
  • Ability to adhere to documented standards and procedures, including change management, incident and problem management.
  • Ability to work with vendor hardware and software engineers to escalate investigation and resolution of problems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team in an efficient and collaborative manner.
  • Possess high degree of energy, accountability, initiative and innovation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
