This important role requires passion and commitment to improving the lives of individuals from under-served communities, underpinned by a belief in our mission to offer quality, patient-centered healthcare regardless of the ability to pay.

About the Organization

At Health And Peace Center, we are committed to promoting healthier communities through accessible healthcare services. Located in Silver Spring, Maryland, we focus on delivering compassionate care in medically under-served areas. Our team is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment that prioritizes collaboration, respect for diversity, and a commitment to ethical clinical practices.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing you to balance your professional responsibilities with personal needs effectively while still engaging directly with students, families, and educational staff. You will leverage a variety of digital tools and platforms to conduct assessments and therapy sessions, ensuring continuity of care and supportive interactions from a distance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical assessments, diagnoses, and effective treatment plans for students struggling with major mental illnesses or severe emotional disorders.
  • Conduct brief, evidence-based screenings and facilitate timely referrals for more comprehensive evaluations when necessary.
  • Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team, working seamlessly alongside educators, healthcare providers, and families to promote a holistic approach to student care.
  • Maintain and monitor an individual caseload, developing integrated care plans that ensure access to necessary services and supports tailored to the unique needs of each client.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions, focusing on evidence-informed strategies to empower clients and enhance their coping skills.
  • Respond to crisis situations utilizing appropriate intervention techniques while ensuring the safety and well-being of all parties involved.
  • Actively contribute to agency committees aimed at enhancing service delivery and promoting quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, ethical guidelines, and the internal code of conduct while conducting client interactions and documentation.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to improve clinical skills and stay updated with current best practices and methodologies in social work.
  • Take part in on-call duties as assigned, providing necessary support outside of regular program hours.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on servicing children and adolescents within a school environment, who may face various emotional and mental health challenges. Understanding the nuances of working within an educational setting is vital as you interact with students from diverse backgrounds, and you will be instrumental in creating a safe and supportive atmosphere for their growth and development.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field is required.
  • Active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Maryland is necessary.
  • Demonstrated expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and age-appropriate therapeutic techniques, particularly with children and adolescents.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of managing a varied caseload while adhering to deadlines and administrative requirements.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a mental health or school-based setting is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable, enabling better communication with a wider client base.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms will be advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Starting salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans to support your well-being.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching to help you save for the future.
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and sick time pay to support work-life balance.
  • Life insurance and profit-sharing opportunities, enhancing your overall compensation package.
  • Employee discounts with various partners, promoting financial health.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) for healthcare and dependent care expenses.
  • Tuition reimbursement programs to support your ongoing education and professional development.
  • Opportunities for flexible work schedules to accommodate personal and familial obligations.
  • Referral bonuses for bringing new talent to Health And Peace Center.
