Description
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day processing and administration of key financial and revenue-related functions. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, billing, accounts receivable, collections, contract administration, software license renewals, and customer order processing.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational leader with strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and extensive experience managing transactional accounting and revenue administration processes. This position does not require CPA certification or advanced GAAP accounting expertise but does require a proven ability to manage essential business operations accurately and efficiently.
Salary Range: $70,000 to $75,000
Responsibilities
  • Manages and oversees payroll processing to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Supervises customer billing activities, invoicing, and payment application.
  • Leads accounts receivable management, including collections and customer account follow-up.
  • Processes and administers software licensing agreements, including new customer orders, renewals, upgrades, and contract modifications.
  • Coordinates cross-functionally to ensure accurate order entry and customer account administration.
  • Monitors outstanding receivables and work proactively to reduce aging balances.
  • Maintains accurate customer, contract, and billing records within company systems.
  • Ensures operational processes are followed consistently and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
  • Assists with month-end closing activities related to payroll, billing, accounts receivable, and revenue administration.
  • Prepares routine reports related to billing, collections, renewals, and operational performance.
  • Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for accounting and revenue-related processes.
  • Trains and supervises accounting operations staff as needed.
  • Supports special projects and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field (Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related); equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll, billing, accounts receivable, collections, customer contract administration, or related accounting operations functions including 1-2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, billing processes, and revenue administration.
  • Experience managing software licensing, subscription renewals, contracts, or recurring revenue processes is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (intermediate skill level) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using ERP (NetSuite preferred), accounting, CRM, and billing software systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
