Job description

The OSP Engineer is responsible for managing and executing engineering revisions driven by client requests, construction feedback, and field changes. This role focuses on updating, correcting, and re-posting network designs within FROGS, ensuring all revisions are accurate, compliant, and fully documented. The engineer will work closely with construction teams, project managers, and clients to process redlines, update design packages, and produce permit-ready and construction-ready documentation that reflects real-world conditions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review, interpret, and implement client change requests and construction redlines into updated engineering designs.

  • Revise and repost project designs, construction packages, and documentation within FROGS.

  • Validate field conditions and incorporate updates such as route adjustments, new placements, utility conflicts, DCR edits, and scope changes.

  • Create and update all supporting documentation, including revised BOMs, as-builts, splice changes, construction notes, and permit drawings.

  • Communicate with construction teams to clarify field issues, confirm design intent, and ensure accurate revision handling.

  • Coordinate with clients, internal and stakeholders to ensure revised designs meet project requirements.

  • Maintain detailed revision logs and ensure all engineering deliverables remain compliant with regulatory specifications.

  • Update internal and external project management tools to track project status and maintain a organized workflow.

  • Provide timely turnaround of revision requests to minimize construction delays.


Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Experience in OSP engineering, drafting, or construction support roles.

  • Strong proficiency with FROGS, including posting revisions, updating job records, and managing engineering workflows.

  • Working knowledge of client revision workflows, and construction-driven design changes.

  • Ability to read and update fiber network designs, splice schematics, plats, utility records, and OSP construction drawings.

  • Skilled in analyzing field redlines, photos, and route changes to produce accurate revised designs.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, QGIS, or similar mapping platforms.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with construction crews and clients.
