The Contemporary Trauma Mental Clinic is currently seeking a dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. This unique role requires a professional who is not only passionate about mental health but is also specifically trained to assist clients coping with trauma-related disorders. Work Environment

This role allows for flexibility, as it is fully remote, providing the opportunity to work from home while still being connected to a supportive and collaborative team. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some scheduling flexibility to cater to patient needs. Communication tools and electronic health record (EHR) systems will be essential parts of your daily workflow, ensuring efficient patient management and care delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health evaluations, enabling insightful understanding of clients' trauma histories.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that focus on recovery and resilience, employing evidence-based therapies such as EMDR and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, guiding patients through processing their trauma and assisting them in cultivating coping skills essential for recovery.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care for clients, addressing both mental and physical health needs.
  • Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, showcasing your ability to act swiftly and judiciously.
  • Educate patients and their families about trauma reactions and effective coping strategies, empowering them with knowledge and resources.
  • Maintain strict adherence to legal and ethical standards by ensuring accurate and confidential documentation of patient records.
  • Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development workshops focused on trauma-informed care.
  • Stay current with the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy, integrating new techniques into treatment as appropriate.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The clinic's primary focus is on adults who have experienced various forms of trauma, including physical, emotional, and psychological distress. We are dedicated to providing a safe space for clients with PTSD, complex trauma, and related disorders, ensuring a tailored approach to each individual's unique needs and circumstances.

Qualifications
  • A master's or doctorate degree from an accredited university in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
  • Current and valid state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is required.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and mastery of trauma-informed therapeutic techniques.
  • Demonstrated competence in trauma-focused therapy modalities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with an approachable, nonjudgmental demeanor.
  • Ability to maintain composure and clear judgment in high-pressure situations.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems and related technology.
  • A collaborative mindset, thriving as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in a community health clinic setting is a plus, while a background in trauma-informed care further enhances your suitability.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $105,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
