  • Commitment to Athenaโ€™s mission and values

  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote-first environment

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Nice-to-Haves:
  • Health actuarial experience, including Government-funded (Medicaid, TRICARE, VA, Medicare), Commercial/Employer, and/or other Public/State programs

  • Proficiency in SQL, SAS, or similar programming languages/tools, including experience writing queries to analyze data and support business insights

Why Athena?

At Athena, we believe actuarial consulting and specialty advisory services is more than just calculating risk: Itโ€™s a lens for reimagining whatโ€™s possible. Thatโ€™s why weโ€™ve built a team of passionate experts who infuse the power of data and predictive modeling with imagination, human insight, and a commitment to helping people thrive.

Every day at Athena, we seek to live and leadโ€”to serve and solve problemsโ€”with courage as our fuel. That means challenging assumptions in search of untapped potential that benefits our clients. It looks like striving to ask better questions that might yield breakthrough answers for a community. And it means seeing people not as problems, but full of possibilityโ€”because we know the future isnโ€™t prescribed, itโ€™s built. Courage is a competitive advantage in actuarial consultingโ€”not just because it emboldens people, but because it moves businesses forward.

Athena is a new kind of actuarial services company, founded by a former leader at a โ€Big 4โ€ firm who had a vision and drive to build something different. We tackle big challenges with small teams of experienced pros who look beyond traditional risk modeling to find innovative solutions.
