Job description

Salary Range: $85,000.00-104,000.00 per year
Role and Responsibilities:

Full Time position supporting the TESS Task Order filling the SSDS Maintenance Technician/Trainer position as a Test Engineer with some travel. Duties include providing maintenance and training support for the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS MK2) and associated components, including Common Display Consoles (CDS), Processing Cabinets, network servers, and other peripheral equipment. The position is located onsite at our Virginia Beach office in Virginia Beach, VA.
Position Duties:
• Either Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree and minimum of 4 years' experience or no degree with a minimum of 10 years technical experience supporting Navy systems experience.
• Must have a US Navy Instructor NEC (805A or 9502).
• Must develop, review, and deliver training curriculum for technicians on the maintenance of SSDS hardware and software, using materials such as Electronic System Operator Manuals (ESOMs) and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs).
• Must create and update curriculum change packages for all formal SSDS Maintenance courses using the Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) Software Program.
• Must support shipboard and at-sea training and testing events, including Mobile Training Teams for Combat Systems Ships Qualification Testing (CSSQTs) and Accelerated Midterm Interoperability Improvement Project (AMIIP) events for various ship classes (CVN, LPD, LHD, LHA, LSD).
• Must have experience with US Navy Combat Systems and Interoperability (e.g., AEGIS, SSDS, ACDS, TADLs, CEC).
• Must demonstrate proficiency with the Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) Program.
• Must have experience with one or more of the following U.S. Navy systems is a plus:
o Weapons Systems: NATO Sea Sparrow Surface Missile System (NSSMS), Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM), Phalanx
Close-In Weapon System (CIWS).
o Sensors: Dual Band RADAR (DBR), AN/SPY TAC 6 (V2), AN/SPS-49/48 Air Search RADARs, AN/SPQ-9B RADAR,AN/SPS-67/73 Surface Search RADARs, AN/UPX-29 IFF Systems, and AN/SLQ-32 Electronic Warfare Suite
o Tactical Data Links: Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC), Tactical Digital Information Links (TADIL) 11 and 16.
o System and network administration: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Cisco network devices and peripheral
equipment.
• Must maintain documentation integrity for classified, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and unclassified materials.
• Must have strong knowledge of advanced features of MS Word & MS Office Products and strong technical writing skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license with own transportation and able to travel.
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete background check and get a government clearance.
• Must be able to follow company policies and procedures.
• Must be able to write, speak and understand English and able to write clear, detailed technical monthly reports'
Skills:
• Former US Navy Enlisted Fire Controlman (FC) or Electronics Technician (ET) with experience as a Training Officer/Training Petty Officer.
• US Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS) qualifications
Physical Requirements:
• Must be capable of working aboard US Navy ships pier side and at-sea.
