Summary
Under the supervision of the principal, or other supervisor, the teacher assistant assists the teacher with the conduct of a class. The assistance takes a variety of forms, such as preparing class materials, correcting and recording assignments, and a wide variety of other services.

4.5 hours per day/174 days per year /Salary Grade 3 $17.24 per hour (2026-27 Support Salary Table)
(Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase for a promotion)
NOTE: THIS IS A SIPPS READING TUTOR POSITION.
UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE PRINCIPAL, CLASSROOM TEACHER, OR OTHER SUPERVISOR, THE SIPPS TA WILL PROVIDE SMALL GROUP READING INTERVENTION USING THE SIPPS CURRICULUM. OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE SUPPORTING IN CLASSROOMS, DATA COLLECTION, AND PREPARING MATERIALS.

QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
1. High school graduation or equivalent education and/or experience.
2. The equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree; or the ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test.
3. Interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Secretarial/clerical skills, including ability to operate a computer may be required.
