What is a full time registered dental assistant (RDA)?

Full Time RDAs are Registered Dental Assistants who work full-time hours, typically 35-40 hours per week, in dental offices or clinics. They assist dentists during procedures, take x-rays, prepare patients, sterilize instruments, and manage patient records. As licensed professionals, RDAs are essential members of the dental care team, ensuring efficient and safe dental practices. Full-time employment may offer benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a full time registered dental assistant (RDA)?

To thrive as a Full Time Registered Dental Assistant, you need a solid background in dental procedures, infection control, and patient care, usually supported by completion of an accredited dental assisting program and current RDA certification. Familiarity with dental software, digital x-rays, and sterilization equipment is typically required. Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a team setting are valuable soft skills. Deliver a positive patient experience by communicating clearly, providing reassurance, and reinforcing treatment and post-op instructions

Maintain strict infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols at all times
