Job Description

Assist the dentist chairside during examinations and treatment with a focus on pediatric patients.
Prepare and maintain treatment rooms including setup, sterilization, instrument preparation, and infection control protocols.
Take and mount full-mouth digital X-rays; operate panoramic and other dental imaging equipment.
Review and update patient medical histories; maintain accurate and detailed patient charts and documentation.
Provide patient care support, prepare patients for procedures, and monitor patient comfort and safety throughout.
Administer nitrous oxide and apply topical agents and fluoride under dentist supervision.
Assist with impressions, diagnostic and opposing models, and rubber dam placement/removal.
Monitor, clean, and maintain dental equipment including handpieces, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilization units.
Order and manage dental supplies and maintain lab areas.
Participate actively in team meetings and contribute positively to the office culture.
Assist with vital signs and EKG readings as necessary.
Provide bilingual support in English and Spanish to better serve our diverse patient base.

Salary Range

Full-time $33,900 - $43,400 per year

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8 AM – 5 PM

Requirements
  • Basic life support
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Infection Control License
  • Registered dental assistant / Certified dental assistant

Minimum of 2 years full-time dental office experience, preferably in pediatric dentistry.
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license required.
Current CPR certification.
Proficient in taking and processing digital dental radiographs (FMX, panoramic, anterior PA).
Knowledge of OSHA and infection control protocols.
Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish (preferred).
Skilled in chairside assisting and familiar with dental terminology and equipment.
Ability to take vital signs, attach EKG leads, and monitor patient health indicators.
Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail and maintain confidentiality.

Preferences

Experience working in a pediatric dental setting.
Experience using digital charting software.
