The Role:
At Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, we create immersive outdoor experiences rooted in adventure, connection, and genuine hospitality. As the Programming & Activities Coordinator, you'll oversee daily programming, lead a team of guides, and curate engaging experiences that bring guests together while showcasing the natural beauty of the Ranch. This role blends leadership, guest engagement, and operations to ensure every activity is safe, seamless, and unforgettable.
What we will ask of you:
  • Lead, train, and support a team of Adventure Guides and activity staff, fostering a culture of safety, hospitality, and teamwork.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute daily and weekly activity programming, including rock climbing, ziplining, hiking, canoeing, via ferrata, and group events.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all guest activities, ensuring a high level of engagement, organization, and satisfaction.
  • Guide select trips and activities, maintaining a visible leadership presence in the field.
  • Ensure the highest safety standards are upheld across all experiences, including staff training, risk management, and compliance with protocols.
  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, and logistics for all activities, adapting to weather, guest needs, and operational priorities.
  • Maintain and inspect equipment, trails, and activity areas to ensure safety, cleanliness, and readiness.
  • Collaborate with Ranch leadership to develop new programming, special events, and seasonal offerings that enhance the guest experience.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages connection, community, and exploration among guests.
  • Assist with property upkeep, including trail maintenance, groundskeeping, and shared spaces as needed.
  • Support guest communication by promoting activities, answering questions, and making personalized recommendations.
  • Uphold company policies, procedures, and standards, promoting a culture of excellence, integrity, and sustainability.

Requirements for Success:
  • 2+ years of experience in outdoor recreation, hospitality, or activity coordination, with leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to motivate and guide others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable engaging with guests of all backgrounds.
  • Experience in outdoor activities such as climbing, hiking, paddling, or similar preferred.
  • Wilderness First Aid, CPR, or other relevant certifications strongly preferred.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage schedules, logistics, and multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Passion for outdoor adventure, guest experience, and community-building.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to stand, hike, and be active for extended periods in outdoor environments.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in varying outdoor conditions including heat, rain, and cold.
