Location: Querétaro, Mexico (On-site)

Position Summary


AGSE Mexico is seeking an experienced and results-driven Site Manager to lead its Querétaro manufacturing operations supporting the aerospace industry. This role will oversee advanced fabrication, welding, CNC machining, assembly, finishing, quality, supply chain, and site administration functions in support of both domestic and international customers.


The Site Manager will play a critical role in building and leading a high-performing manufacturing operation modeled after AGSE’s established U.S. operations. This position is ideal for a hands-on operational leader with deep aerospace manufacturing experience, strong leadership capability, and a passion for operational excellence, continuous improvement, and safety.

Key Responsibilities


1. Site Operations Leadership


• Provide hands-on leadership for day-to-day operations of the Querétaro facility

• Ensure timely and high-quality production of aerospace ground support equipment and fabricated assemblies

• Oversee fabrication, welding, CNC machining, assembly, finishing, quality, supply chain, and HR functions


2. Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement


• Lead the ramp-up and ongoing development of a greenfield manufacturing site

• Establish processes, workflows, and operational structures aligned with AGSE standards

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, lead time, and cost reduction

• Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and structured problem-solving methodologies


3. Quality & Compliance


• Implement and maintain AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality systems

• Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with aerospace and regulatory requirements

• Ensure compliance with Mexican labor law, STPS regulations, IMSS requirements, and EHS standards


4. Leadership & Workforce Development


• Recruit, develop, and retain a skilled local workforce

• Build training programs and competency development frameworks

• Lead multidisciplinary production and operational teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment


5. Cross-Functional & External Collaboration


• Partner with Engineering and Program Management to support new product introductions and design changes

• Collaborate with U.S.-based leadership on production reporting, site performance, and improvement initiatives

• Build relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and local government entities within the Querétaro aerospace corridor


Requirements:

Requirements


  • 1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2. Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations management, preferably within GSE, aerospace tooling, heavy-duty metal fabrication, or Tier 1/2 aerospace manufacturing environments.
  • 3. Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes including MIG/TIG welding, structural steel and aluminum fabrication, CNC machining, mechanical assembly, and surface finishing.
  • 4. Familiarity with aerospace, military, or commercial ground support standards and specifications (e.g., ATA, FAA, AS9100, NADCAP where applicable).
  • 5. Experience implementing and managing ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems in a fabrication or aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • 6. Demonstrated experience leading greenfield or startup manufacturing operations, including facility layout, equipment qualification, and workforce development.
  • 7. Strong knowledge of Mexican labor law (LFT), STPS/EHS regulations, IMSS compliance, and manufacturing regulations applicable to the aerospace sector in Querétaro or similar industrial zones.
  • 8. Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary production teams in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • 9. Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, welding symbols, and fabrication tolerances.
  • 10. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • 11. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, U.S.-based senior management, and local government or regulatory stakeholders.
  • 12. Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal) is required; professional proficiency in English is required for cross-border communication with U.S. headquarters.
  • 13. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
