Get to Know Your Team: 

  • Portneuf Medical Center is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's tertiary care and Level II Trauma Center, housing the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue.

Responsibilities
  • Pediatrics nurses are Registered Nurses (RN) who provide direct care to patients who range in age from newborn to geriatric.
  • Patients include medical-surgical, oncology, as well as pediatric patients requiring moderate sedation for special procedures and testing.
  • Staff ratio is 1-3 patients according to the acuity of the patient.
  • The nurse reports to the Pediatric charge nurse.
  • Pediatric RN organizes care delivery by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, evaluating, and communicating with all necessary providers and ancillary departments on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications

Job Requirements: 

  • Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Idaho
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

  • Obtain PALS certification within 1 year of hire
  • Obtain ONS certification within 1 year of hire.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • At least one year of acute care experience
