Full Time Substance Abuse Program Director (Employment/Contract Opportunities)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Senior Management Position. Experienced candidate to Manage and Grow our Outpatient Substance Abuse Facility along with related branches including development and run substance abuse treatment programs. Must be able to make immediate impact. Leadership capability essential.

· Develop additional substance abuse programs to improve operations

  • Works in conjunction with all facility staff to facilitate a safe environment for client recovery.
  • Complete required referral reports accurately and submit as needed.
  • Ensure documentation is complete and accurate and meets the criteria for appropriate level of care according to clinical, funding and billing
  • Ensure documentation in the clinical record is legible, up todate and complies with documentation standards.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulatory standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and clinic matters and refer questionable issues to your supervisor.

· Work with patient families, and individuals with any issue or concern pertaining to care.

· Identify and develop business opportunities and/ or areas for improvement.

· Initiate and supervise new programs at various locations.

· Lead by Example, Motivate and educate staff to enhance individual performance.

· Other assignments as per the management’s instruction.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the exempt functions as defined in this job description.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

· Strong Management Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge

1. of the dynamics of alcohol/drug related problems and their impact upon patients and their families; of the social factors involved in substance abuse;

2. of the principles and techniques of rehabilitation counseling and their application to individuals possessing chemical dependencies;

3. of community resources available to persons with alcohol/drug related problems; of the physiological and psychological effects of chemical dependency; and

4. of general social, economic and health problems.

· Ability is required to interview and counsel; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to interact with chemically dependent persons; to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing; and to speak before large groups.

· Substantial experience of developing and running substance programs in Texas.

  • Knowledgeable of therapeutic community philosophy.
  • Willingness to adhere to the therapeutic community modality.
  • Possesses good oral and written communication skills.
  • Experienced and capable of identifying appropriate resources for client development and providing substance abuse counseling.
  • Capable of discerning facts from opinions and remaining objective when listening to conflicting opinions and able to avoid power struggles.
  • Experienced in working with diverse population.
  • Possesses good time management skills needed to meet aggressive deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Patience, perseverance, and resilience in a challenging environment.
  • Presents a professional, positive image.

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social work, Counseling

· Fluent in English and optional Spanish

Experience:

· Five (5) years in developing and running outpatient substance abuse facilities in Texas.

· five (5) years’ experience in human services fieldwork, minimum of two years in supervisory capacity

· Five (5) years of substance abuse treatment experience preferred.

  • Five (5) year of counseling experience with chemically dependent adolescents preferred.

License Required:

  • Valid LCDC
  • Management background/training
