What is a full time production assistant?

Full Time Production Assistants are entry-level professionals who support the production process in various industries such as film, television, theater, or live events. Their responsibilities typically include assisting with set preparation, managing equipment, running errands, coordinating with crew members, and handling administrative tasks. Working full time means they are employed on a regular, ongoing basis rather than just for specific projects or short periods. Production Assistants play a crucial role in ensuring that productions run smoothly and efficiently. The role often serves as a stepping stone to more advanced positions within the industry.

What are the typical responsibilities of a full time production assistant during a live production day?

As a Full Time Production Assistant, your daily tasks often include setting up equipment, preparing locations, coordinating talent and crew, and managing logistics like paperwork and schedules. During live production, you may be responsible for cueing talent, delivering scripts or props, and ensuring smooth communication between departments. The role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly to last-minute changes or challenges, all while supporting the team to keep production running efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full time production assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time Production Assistant, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a high school diploma or equivalent, with some roles preferring experience or relevant coursework in media production. Familiarity with production equipment, scheduling software, and office tools like Microsoft Office or Google Workspace is commonly required. Excellent communication, adaptability, and the ability to multitask under pressure are vital soft skills for this position. These skills ensure smooth production workflows, timely project completion, and effective teamwork in dynamic production environments.

Can I be a full time production assistant with no experience?

Full time production assistant roles often do not require prior experience, as on-the-job training is common. Employers typically look for strong organizational skills, the ability to work in a team, and a willingness to learn, with some positions accepting entry-level candidates. The Sweet Spot
Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for the art of baking? We are looking for a Production Assistant to join our team. In this role, you won't just be "helping out"-you will be the hands-on force behind our entire line of signature desserts. From frosting the perfect cupcake to scaling ingredients with scientific precision, your work ensures that every customer enjoys the gold standard of sweets.
Key Responsibilities
  • The Finishing Touch: Frost and decorate our standard cakes and cupcakes with consistency and flair.

  • Kitchen Excellence: Maintain a sense of urgency in all tasks while keeping the bakery clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.

Who You Are

  • A Team Player: You build positive relationships with your coworkers and contribute to a productive, upbeat kitchen culture.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred.
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to stand for long periods and lift/move items up to 50 lbs.
