Job description

Manufacturing Engineer

Halogen Systems Inc. | Reno, NV | Full-Time | On-Site

Halogen Systems is growing, and we’re looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to help us improve how we build, test, and scale our products. We design and manufacture advanced water quality monitoring technology, including chlorine analyzers and multi-parameter sensors used in drinking water, hot water, industrial, and remote monitoring applications. Our products help customers monitor water quality more efficiently through low-maintenance, reagent-free technology.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who likes being close to the product, close to the process, and close to the people doing the work. We’re not looking for someone who wants to sit behind a desk all day. We’re looking for someone who is curious, practical, and willing to get out on the manufacturing floor, ask good questions, identify what can be improved, and help make it happen.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you’ll work closely with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and operations to improve production processes, solve quality issues, and help the company scale. You’ll spend your time:

  • Improving manufacturing processes, assembly methods, tooling, fixtures, and test equipment
  • Supporting new product introductions with a focus on manufacturability and production readiness
  • Digging into root causes for production issues, customer returns, RMAs, and field feedback
  • Helping create stronger closed-loop quality processes so issues are fixed and prevented moving forward
  • Developing clear work instructions, process documentation, and production standards
  • Looking for ways to improve yield, reduce scrap, shorten cycle times, and improve overall production flow
  • Partnering with production, quality, engineering, supply chain, and customer service teams
  • Making practical recommendations to leadership on how to improve the product, process, and quality systems
  • Helping prepare the company for future ISO 9000 readiness

Requirements:

A strong fit for this role will likely come from a manufacturing engineering, process engineering, quality engineering, or continuous improvement background. You do not need to check every box, but you should be someone who enjoys solving real production problems and turning ideas into action.

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, quality engineering, or a similar role
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with technical or precision products
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to work directly with technicians, assemblers, and operators
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Experience improving processes, quality, yield, or production efficiency
  • The ability to work independently, own projects, and follow through on implementation
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to make thoughtful recommendations
  • A continuous improvement mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with sensors, instrumentation, electronics, electro-mechanical products, or controls
  • PLC programming or ladder logic exposure
  • Experience in an ISO 9000 or ISO-certified manufacturing environment
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement experience
  • CAD, ERP, NetSuite, Minitab, or similar tools
  • Experience in a smaller or growing manufacturing company where people wear multiple hats

Why Join Halogen Systems?

At Halogen, your work will be visible and meaningful. This is a smaller, growing company where the right person can have a real impact on manufacturing, quality, and how the company scales. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with leadership, bring forward ideas, and help shape better processes instead of simply maintaining the status quo. If you are the kind of engineer who likes solving problems, owning projects, and seeing your work make a difference, this could be a great fit.

Benefits

  • 401(k) with profit sharing
  • 100% paid medical insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Professional development and growth opportunities

Additional Details

This role is based on-site at Halogen Systems’ manufacturing facility in Reno, Nevada. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. At this time, Halogen is not offering sponsorship or relocation assistance.
